Our chapel of rest is available for you to come and pay your final respects to the deceased in a calm and quiet setting. Located here on-site in Caerphilly our chapel provides a private space to visit your loved one and reflect on cherished memories. For many, visiting the chapel of rest provides closure and comfort. If you would like to make an appointment to visit your loved one, please call our offices.
Visiting the chapel of rest is by appointment only. So, please contact us directly to schedule this with our staff. We can work with you to arrange visitation at a convenient time. This can be during our regular opening hours, evenings or even weekends. You can also bring items of sentimental value to place in the coffin, such as:
Visiting the deceased is a personal choice. Seeing the deceased at peace may provide you with a sense of comfort and reassurance. Meanwhile, the private setting offers you time to grieve undisturbed. Our chapel is a homely and peaceful space, suitable for quiet reflection or prayer.
Some people prefer not to visit, instead preferring to remember their loved ones as they were in life. It is important you do not feel pressured into visiting. So, if you have any reservations or anxieties, then please speak with a member of staff in confidence.
Visitations are reserved for the immediate family of the deceased unless previously approved. If you are a friend or an extended family member wishing to visit, please contact us so that we can authorise your appointment. Where possible we will always look to accommodate your request.
If you are planning your visit, rest assured that our funeral directors are easily accessible via car with plenty of parking available. Alternatively, if using public transport, there are also a number of bus stops in the immediate vicinity.

You’ll need to contact your funeral director, who will be pleased to set up a convenient time for you to visit, which is normally a few days before the funeral. It’s crucial to schedule an appointment so that you can use the Chapel of Rest and your loved one is ready for your visit.
In most cases, the deceased’s relatives or the person(s) in charge of the funeral arrangements make the decision about who can attend the Chapel of Rest. Your funeral director will be pleased to go over this with you in greater detail.
